About our Makers
Sole Survivor Leather goods speak of a fusion of skill, art and fashion.
Each piece is hand made and designed in house.
Steve has been making leather goods since the late 60's. Using carefully selected leathers, Steve designs and makes an original and creative collection of shoulder bags, belts and other accessories. He is responsible for the pattern making and sourcing of all materials and supplies. One of Steve's greatest joys is sharing this knowledge with his daughter, Annie Rye.
Owner of Sole Survivor, Kay has been working together with Steve since 1979 designing and making leather goods. Kay is deeply involved in all aspects of the business including purchasing, marketing, merchandising and more. She enjoys
creating one of a kind sculptural pieces out of leather, molding and shaping the hides into interesting vessels or wall hangings. Kay has been working with leather since 1979.
Annie's work at Sole Survivor includes making wallets, satchels and shoulder bags. Her appreciation of color has helped to expand the shop's offerings beyond the usual earth tones! Annie loves handsewing luxury leathers into one of a kind bags. Annie has been working full time with Sole Survivor since 2007.
